Do I need an XXL Electric Bike for tall people?
If you are over 195 cm, you are a prime candidate for an XXL e-bike. Besides the body height, you'll need to know your inner leg length. If it’s longer than 90 cm, you’ll be even better suited to an XXL e-bike.
Why is the right frame size so important?
Too often, tall people ride bikes that are much too small for them. They can ride them, but at the expense of ergonomics, efficiency, and ultimately, health.
A permanent incorrect position on the bike can lead to serious health problems. Thus, especially tall people should make sure to choose an e-bike with a frame in right size.
How do I find an e-bike for tall people?
A first sign should always be the size and geometry information provided on the product page of the selected bike. There, you will usually find a recommendation on which frame size is most suitable for which body size.
The best way to compare the values is with your own body size and inner leg length. You can measure your inseam length by standing straight against a wall, holding a book between your legs in the groin area and pushing it as high up as possible, then measuring vertically from the top edge of the book to the floor.
You will also find a corresponding size calculator and size charts on each product page. These measurements are important when choosing an e-bike for particularly tall people. Of course, the frame height is the decisive criterion for an XXL e-bike for women and men, but other components should also be adjusted accordingly. The handlebar height and width should be adjusted to suit your body size. Likewise, a sufficiently long seat post and resulting seat height are important to sit comfortably on an XXL e-bike.
Maximum weight for an XXL e-bike for tall people
Very tall people are usually also heavier than average-sized people. Therefore, you should take a look at the greatest permissible weight of the XXL e-bike. At Canyon, the largest permissible weight for e-bikes is 140 kg.
The greatest permissible weight always refers to the ready-to-ride combination of bike and person, including any equipment such as a backpack and its contents.
