Highlights Spectral 5

This is AL-Ways Trail

Do-it-all DNA

The Spectral family of bikes are designed to get the most out of every trail, and bring the best out of every rider. Super versatile, sweet handling, surefooted and efficient, this next-gen trail bike stacks new features on top of tried and true technology to deliver boundary breaking performance. The new Spectral AL carries all these legendary, award-winning hallmarks over into a tough, dependable, value packed aluminium grin machine.

Shaped to shred

All the bells and none of the whistles, or creaks, or rattles. The Spectral AL is built to deliver all the Spectral trademark trail ripping awesomeness in a no-nonsense, no-frills, abuse tolerant package. Riders who live for the ride and live by the phrase “rode it hard and put it away wet” are going to love this bike.

Key features

AL Ways Trail

The smartest designs are the simplest. Spectral AL is everything riders and reviewers love about our Spectral CF made alloy and affordable. Addictively playful, effortlessly balanced vibe. Totally sorted, award winning suspension and geo. Punishment proofed, super durable yet still lightweight alloy frame. Killer value specs in two wheel formats. Spectral AL is simply awesome.

Made for metal

Spectral AL is no carbon copy of our award winning CF model. Sure it uses the same dialled 140mm rear suspension kinematic and geometry, but every alloy tube and forged part is uniquely engineered to max out the metal performance gains. Designed for the perfect balance of confidence and traction, it delivers just the right blend of stiffness and compliance across the chassis.

Shaped by the trail

Years of trail development have made this the best shaped Spectral ever. 64 degree head angle for composed, predictable front end handling. 76.6 degree seat angle for nailing every elevator pitch. Grounded for grip, lively for play.

Speed or steeze

Every Spectral AL in S - XL* size comes in either full 29er or 27.5in back wheel format. Go big both ends for the smoothest flow, easiest speed and grip for days. Mix it up for hip flicking, shape shifting, berm blowing, viral gramming steeze. *XS only comes in mixed because a big back wheel doesn't fit the smaller frame or the rider.

Drop low, get loose

Extra seat post drop on every size - up to 230mm on XL - means more room to move and master the terrain. Oversized 34.9mm shaft diameter means a stiffer, stronger post for better reliability and more stable pedalling feel.

Punishment proof

Practical durability details keep Spectral AL on the trail and out of the workshop. Top quality, custom grease bearings stay smooth for years. Replaceable Helicoil inserts guarantee safe servicing. Frame armour and Heli tape add scuff proof, noise cancelling protection. External tool / accessory mount for convenience, chain guide compatible for crazy days.

Bike classification

This category also covers the requirements of categories 1-3. In addition it includes use on very harsh, obstacle-scattered terrain with steep gradients and consequently higher speeds. Regular, moderate jumps pose no problem for experienced riders when using these bikes. Extended and regular use in bike parks and tackling “North Shore” sections should be avoided. Due to increased stresses, these bikes should be checked for damage after every ride. Full suspension bikes with mid-level travel are typical in this category.
